CUSTOM IMAGE DETAILSIf making your own image to the accurate wall dimensions at 100% scale then the minimum dpi value for an image at full wall size before pixelation is 72dpi. We suggest rounding up to 100dpi to ensure quality. If the file size is too large, you can reduce to 72dpi if required.
Example: 3000x2400mm @ 100dpi (100% Scale @ 100dpi)
Images at scale or smaller than the actual wall size are usually set at 300dpi which allow up to 400% increase in size before losing quality. After that, the image will blur slightly but will easily be viewed from a slight distance.
This is appropriate for wall graphics as they are supposed to be viewed at a distance.
Example: 750x600mm @ 300dpi (25% Scale @ 300dpi)
Bare in mind most images found on stock image sites are set at an average of 500x300mm @ 300dpi which is fine for most walls. The image will be slightly blurred at close inspection but viewed at a couple meters back the image will look fine as a whole.
Either JPEG or PNG files are acceptable formats to use.
